Welcome to the 1980s!

Singing Sunday

Welcome to our 1980s week!

We are starting this week off with a cover of the famous song Hallelujah, by Patricia Wynowsky. This song was originally sung in 1984 by Leonard Cohen, and is still a hit today!

We want to thank one of our sponsors for Bestival 2020, Swanson's Home Hardware Building Centre! Without their support, we wouldn't be able to provide a virtual Bestival this year!

We hope you've enjoyed this a cappella cover of Hallelujah, and we'll see you tomorrow for Musing Monday!

Musing Monday

Happy Musing Monday!

Today Lisa Golem Art brings some awesome 1980s inspired abstract art tutorials!

We first would like to thank a few of our sponsors for Bestival 2020: Zehr Group, Him & Her, and Condo Culture! Without the support of sponsors like them, we wouldn't be able to provide the awesome content you are seeing and will be seeing more of come September!

The 1980s was a time of a lot of change, and there was a variety of different popular art styles. This video features an abstract tutorial that is inspired from many different features of the many 1980s art movements!

Kid Time Tuesday

Welcome to Kid Time Tuesday!

Today we're featuring some clips from some popular kid's TV shows of the 1980s! Maybe you'll find a new show for you or your kid(s) to watch, or be reminded of one that you had forgotten about!

The first show we are featuring is Sesame Street! This show is still super well known today, but it first started gaining its popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s! In today's video we feature a clip from an episode released in the 1980s: Oscar the Grouch singing "Trash Outta Heaven".

The second show we feature today is Fraggle Rock. This show aired during the 1980s, and its final episode was released in 1987. Today this show is still well loved by people of all ages! In today's video we feature the opening theme song for the show, it's super fun and upbeat!

The final show we are featuring today is DuckTales. Although this show was only on air for three years, it still gained a lot of popularity. Today you can find a newer version, created in 2017, on Disney+ in addition to the original show. Watch our video to see the original opening theme song from the 1980s!

We hope today's video reminded you of some old shows you used to love, or gave you a new show to try out! Happy Tuesday.
