From its beginnings in 1876 with military marches, the KMSB do everything from Bach to Bernstein, from classical symphonies to hot jazz and latin beat, from Hymns to Hoagy Carmichael, from ragtime to rock-and-roll.
UW BALINESE GAMELAN ENSEMBLE
Over the fall term, students and community members of the UWaterloo Gamelan and Grebel Community Gamelan dedicated themselves to learning and committing to memory melodies and rhythms of Balinese gamelan music.
KW BIG BAND THEORY
The Big Band Theory had its genesis in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, and performs period music from the swing era (Benny Goodman and Count Basie), contemporary big band arrangements (LAs Big Phat Band), 70s horn band (Earth, Wind and Fire).
