

Activities Coordinator
Belmont Village Bestival is a music and arts festival in the heart of Kitchener/Waterloo.
We’re looking for two energetic people to assist in the organization and implementation of programming, volunteer management, and social media promotions.
Festival programming includes a variety of musical bands, choirs, and buskers (e.g. classical, jazz, rock, folk, pop, rap); dance demonstrations and activities; children's performances and interactive activities (e.g. ukulele intro sessions, drum circles); hands-on art activities and crafts for children and adults; art demonstrations/competitions; story telling; spoken word performances; yoga demonstrations; and various vendors and sponsors.

Tasks and Responsibilities
-
lead in the planning, preparation, and execution of a variety of family-friendly activities
-
communicate with artists leading up to the festival for the purpose of organizing logistics
-
create appropriate communications and connections with community partners
-
create social media calendar; create and post social media content
-
submit weekly work schedule to Artistic Director, enabling a remote work option
Requirements
-
provide police check including vulnerable sector check
-
aged 15-30 to fit within the requirements of the Canada Summer Job Grant
Competencies
-
excellent written and oral communication skill
-
able to communicate with various stakeholders
-
leadership skills to direct the work of volunteers
-
working knowledge of basic web technologies (Google forms and social media data analytics)
-
ability to build and maintain relations with sponsors, volunteers, and artists
-
ability to delegate
-
ability to demonstrate initiative, and take responsibility for the completion of tasks in a timely manner
-
some post-secondary courses in business management, event planning, or other associated field of study is an asset
