URBAN SKETCHING WITH INK & WATERCOLOUR

9am-10:30am​

 

Learn to sketch with urban sketcher artist Moumita Roy Chowdhary!

Participants will have the opportunity to paint different urban scenes from supplied photo references to learn sketching skills before trying it on their own outside. 

Moumita will be teaching different types of mark making techniques with ink and then different watercolour wash techniques, basics of colour theory and composition.

​ The room will have 100 chairs and it will be on a first come first serve basis.

MATERIALS

Participants will have to bring their own materials.

  • Watercolour Paper or sketchbooks

  • Watercolour paints

  • Brushes

  • Pencil and eraser

  • A small container to hold water

  • A board to fix and masking tape if they are using paper

  • Paper towels

  • Waterproof micron pens

KW GLEE POP CHOIR EXPERIENCE

11am-12:30pm

 

If you love to sing, this is the event for you!

Learn to sing popular music with Canada’s top contemporary choir organization.  The KW Glee team will lead community participants in learning two popular songs in harmony as a group … they might even add a some basic choreography!

 

Everyone in the family is welcome - from kids and teens to adults of all ages! Join us as we sing together in harmony.

CIRCLE MUSIC WITH JONI NEHRITA

1pm-2:30pm

 

Circle Music is a collective music-making experience that is centred around core elements including: Body Percussion, Improvisation, Singing, Movement and Non-verbal Communication. It is structured around musical games that are linked in a “flow”- that is - without interruptions - and uses co-operation and play as a means to create presence and connection. The workshop is based on the studies Joni did in Brazil with collective Música do Círculo aka MdC (Music of the Circle).

It is open to teens and adults regardless of musical experience and/or proficiency. 

BADEN STORYTELLERS' GUILD

2:45pm-4pm

Oral Storytellers, Carolyn Wilker and Kait Taylor will be sharing engaging stories told by heart. Listeners will grow their storytelling senses and are invited to take part in the craft by building a “community story” together. The Baden Storytellers’ Guild is dedicated to nurturing and sustaining the development of emerging and established storytellers. As members, Carolyn, and Kait have shared their talents across Southern Ontario leaving audiences with a new love of this old tradition.

Carolyn Wilker is an author and speaker, who digs into the wisdom found in folktales and personal stories with her craft to make a difference in her community.

Kait Taylor is a lively performer who takes joy in reinvigorating tales for the enjoyment of audiences of all ages and sparking a love of story.
