Amanda Kind
Amanda Kind with Eryn Simoes, Janessa Nunan, Shaughnessy Valant, Jorja Smith
Both energetic and emotional, Amanda Kind’s distinctly soulful brand of country is an
unexpected blend of grit and grace - think The Chicks meets Patsy Cline. One minute
she’s got the crowd dancing and singing along to an upbeat country rock anthem, and
the next she’s got them recalling their own heartbreak with a stirring ballad. As a solo
artist, Amanda’s single Slow Dance reached #1 on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country chart.
Other releases include Rebel Spirit, Love Used To Live Here, and Distant Memory. She
has performed at festivals and events across Canada, and has shared stages with
artists such as Steven Lee Olsen, Robyn Ottolini, and Owen Riegling. Today, Amanda’s
primary creative focus is Amanda & James, the country duo she shares with fellow artist
James Downham. The duo has quickly gained momentum, earning back-to-back
nominations for Group or Duo of the Year at the CMAOntario Awards and releasing fan-
favourite singles including Another Round, Two Wrongs Don’t Make a Right, and
Comeback. Known for their soaring harmonies, authentic storytelling, and dynamic live
performances, Amanda & James have performed for audiences across Ontario and
internationally, building a growing following both on stage and through streaming
platforms. When she’s not writing, recording, or performing, Amanda is one of Canada’s
leading commercial music voice teachers, the Artistic Director of Pop Nation Canada,
and serves on faculty at Wilfrid Laurier University helping to develop the next generation
of artists.
