Guitar Giveaway — Official Contest Rules

The Belmont Village BESTIVAL Guitar Giveaway (the “Contest”) is administered by Belmont Village BESTIVAL (“BESTIVAL”). The prize has been donated by Long & McQuade (the “Prize Sponsor”). Long & McQuade is not responsible for administering the Contest, processing entries, or selecting the winner. By entering, entrants agree to these Official Contest Rules and the BESTIVAL General Terms & Conditions and Privacy Statement. These Rules govern if there is a conflict concerning the Contest. An entrant who submits an entry agrees to these Rules. An existing newsletter subscriber who is automatically entered must accept and comply with these Rules before being declared the winner.

Eligibility. The Contest is open to residents of Ontario who are at least thirteen (13) years old when they enter. Entrants under eighteen (18) must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to enter and claim the prize. BESTIVAL directors, individuals directly involved in administering the Contest, Long & McQuade personnel directly involved in the Contest, and members of their households are not eligible.

Contest Period. The Contest opens when the official online entry form becomes available on July 13, 2026, and closes at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time on September 12, 2026. All entries must be submitted online through the official Contest form available at www.belmontvillagebestival.com/contest.

How to Enter No Purchase Necessary. During the Contest Period, an eligible person may receive:

• One (1) automatic entry if they were an active subscriber to the official BESTIVAL newsletter when the Contest opened;

• One (1) entry by subscribing to the official BESTIVAL newsletter through the Contest form during the Contest Period; and

• Ten (10) entries by applying, being accepted, and being confirmed for a 2026 BESTIVAL volunteer role and opting into the Contest.

A newsletter entry and volunteer entries may be combined, for a maximum of eleven (11) entries.

As an alternative to subscribing or volunteering, an eligible person may receive eleven (11) entries by selecting the free alternate-entry option on the Contest form and submitting an original response of at least fifty (50) words to the question: “Why are local arts and music important to your community?”

The alternate-entry method cannot be combined with another entry method. The maximum is eleven (11) entries per person, regardless of the number of email addresses, newsletter subscriptions, volunteer applications, or entry methods used. Duplicate, automated, false, incomplete, or multiple-identity entries are void.

Automatic Entry and Opt-Out. Existing subscribers do not need to complete the Contest form to receive their one provisional automatic entry. A subscriber may remove their automatic entry before the Contest closes by emailing info@belmontvillagebestival.com with the subject line “Contest Opt-Out.” Declining Contest participation will not unsubscribe the person from the BESTIVAL newsletter. Unsubscribing from the newsletter will not invalidate an eligible Contest entry already received unless the person also asks BESTIVAL to remove the entry.

Prize and Odds. One (1) prize is available: an Epiphone Inspired by Gibson J-45 Acoustic/Electric Guitar (Aged Wine Red), with an approximate retail value of CAD $1,159. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received. The prize must be accepted as awarded, is non-transferable, and has no cash alternative. 

Prize Condition and Warranty. The guitar is new but is awarded “as is” in the condition existing at pickup. The prize does not include a manufacturer’s, retailer’s, or extended warranty. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BESTIVAL makes no express or implied representation or warranty concerning the condition, quality, performance, merchantability, durability, or fitness of the prize for any purpose and is not responsible for its repair, replacement, service, return, or exchange. Nothing in these Rules excludes or limits any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Draw and Selected Entrant. BESTIVAL will conduct a random draw in Waterloo, Ontario, after the Contest closes on September 12, 2026. The selected entrant does not need to be present and will be contacted using the email address associated with the entry. The selected entrant must respond within five (5) business days, accept these Rules, confirm their eligibility, correctly answer an unaided, time-limited mathematical skill-testing question, and complete any reasonably required declaration or release. A selected entrant under eighteen (18) must also provide the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Residency Verification and Prize Pickup. The selected entrant must collect the prize in person in Waterloo, Ontario at a date, time, and location arranged by BESTIVAL, within thirty (30) days after being contacted. Shipping and delivery are not available.

At pickup, the selected entrant must provide reasonable proof of identity, age, and Ontario residency satisfactory to BESTIVAL. Government-issued identification showing an Ontario address or other reasonable supporting documentation may be accepted. Where the selected entrant is under eighteen (18), appropriate documentation may be provided by their parent or legal guardian.

The selected entrant will not be declared the winner until all Contest requirements have been completed and eligibility has been verified at pickup. If the selected entrant does not provide satisfactory proof, does not collect the prize within the required period, or otherwise fails to comply with these Rules, the entry will be disqualified and BESTIVAL may conduct another random draw. The selected entrant is responsible for all travel, transportation, and other costs associated with collecting the prize.

Privacy and Newsletter Consent. Personal information collected through the Contest form will be used to administer the Contest and verify eligibility. It will be used to send the BESTIVAL newsletter only where the entrant has affirmatively consented to receive it. Newsletter consent may be withdrawn at any time by using the unsubscribe mechanism in an email or by contacting info@belmontvillagebestival.com. Unsubscribing will not invalidate eligible Contest entries already received. Personal information will otherwise be handled in accordance with the BESTIVAL General Terms & Conditions and Privacy Statement.

Winner Announcement. By accepting the prize, the winner consents to BESTIVAL announcing their first name, last initial, photograph, and Ontario municipality in connection with the Contest. 

General. BESTIVAL may verify entries, disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process or breaches these Rules, and cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failure, error, or circumstances beyond its reasonable control impair its proper administration, subject to applicable law. The Contest is governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, or any other social-media platform through which it may be promoted.
